Dear Friends, Welcome to another ART Lesson!
Bergsma News…We are having a 1/2 off PRINT SALE on line to celebrate May… check out the Website for details.
Art Tip #1; There are allot of premixed red shades; but one thing is the most important to remember. No Matter which shade or red you choose…You will need greens to create the right shadows. I have a lesson on the color wheel on You- Tube…check it out for more information! (Click the “Video Series” link on the right to get there.)
What are the essentials to make great Reds?
I use a yellow and orange for the high lights. For the mid tone I like Vermilion or Cadmium Red light. And to create the shadows I use Alizarin Crimson. (The Alizarin can be mixed with a Thalo Green to create a fantastic Burgundy color)
Art Tip #2. Repetition with variation. I will use some of the same colors in the flowers to help bind the composition.
I want to thank many of my FB friends for helping with the color suggestions for this painting!
I hope your Spring will inspire you to go outside and take a moment to remember all that is good and beautiful in life!
End of Class.
Some personal news…My Daughter Sky has left for an around the world trip! She prepared a new video for you…It will be the last one until she returns. If you want to check out “Water color Techniques/ Frogs” scroll back to the top and click on the “Video Series” You Tube link in the right column.
Hope all of you have a fantastic week and Happy Painting…
